You travelled far and fought hard this Thursday night at Hudson Yacht Club. We are so proud of your efforts! Results will be posted soon so watch for them. We did not win but we proved ourselves to be great competitors!
Our next competition will be at our own pool on Wednesday, July 8 and we can hardly wait to host our first home meet of the season against our rivals from Beaconsfield, Windermere Aquatic Club (WAC).
Please use the link provided to you in our email concerning this competition.
If you have any difficulty, let us know and we can help to get you signed up. Please note that the DEADLINE FOR MEET SIGN-UP IS MONDAY JULY 6 AT NOON. This ensures that the coaches and CITs have time to prepare the cards for the meet.
We want to show our true Westmount hospitality and to do that we must provide a barbecue so that our guests may have dinner on-site and a concession for snacks. This is a great fundraiser for the team and so your help as a volunteer and your generosity by providing treats for the concession table will be greatly appreciated! Some ideas for treat donations: cupcakes, cookies, brownies, fruit kebabs, gummy kebabs, ring pops, freezies or popsicles, sliced watermelon, or other treats you think would be appreciated. If you wish to volunteer in the concessions or barbecue, please use the link provided in the email concerning the competition.
One other item we are planning to offer at the concessions table are "vintage" Dolphin tshirts from past seasons. These will be offered at $5.00 each and we have an array of limited sizes available. These are tshirts that have never been worn and were "overstock" from past seasons. We will try to offer a selection of colours and sizes at each home meet.
We also will require some of our members to help out as officials. If this is how you would like to help out please refer to the email we sent and use the link provided for officials signup.
A note about ribbons: at each meet ribbons are distributed at a particular table that the kids will be looking for at each meet. If your swimmer wants their ribbons they cans visit the ribbon table, or if they miss that opportunity, our resident ribbon lady, Leah Trineer (Head Coach Hannah's mom) will have collected them for you and will make sure that you get them. If you know that you don't want to collect your ribbons, let her know so that she can return them to the clubs who distributed them (including our own!). These ribbons are a significant expense for all of the clubs in our league and so those ribbons that can be "recycled" in this way are always appreciated!
We want to remind you to wear your Dolphins gear at meets, wear your Dolphins cap during your race so we know you are a Dolphin, bring warm clothing to put on between races as it sometimes gets chilly at night, and please bring your best sportsman-like behaviour! Of course it wouldn't be an ALPS meet without cheers so bring your loud voices and be ready to call to your opponents: "Yes, Yes, Yes we do, we've got spirit how about you?"
Go Dolphins Go!
